Discover Lagoon: the new honu collection inspired by the many intricate textures of the ocean. From coral reefs (known as the 'rainforests of the sea') to barnacles that attach themselves to sea turtles, there’s so much more to the ocean’s ecosystem besides the immediately obvious marine life that you’ll find swimming about in it—and this collection pays homage to those elements. Here you’ll find chunky hoop earrings that recall the multi-dimensional textures of coral, bangles adorned with encrusted barnacle-like detailing, minimal wavy rings curved to mimic the water, and lots more.
Despite their plant-like appearance, corals are actually animals—and they do everything from protecting coastlines from storms and erosion, to generating half of Earth's oxygen and providing food and shelter for marine species. Sadly, increasing sea temperates and human activity such as overfishing, pollution and coastal development are killing reefs. We want to create awareness around the threats that they face: as the most biodiverse marine ecosystem in the world, we cannot afford to lose them for good. Lagoon is a reminder of this, and represents our awe and respect for these slow-growing creatures.
